July, partly.
July was stuffed full of lots of fun. For the life of me I can't remember when or where we took this picture, but I love it. My boy, snuggled up on me. Love.
I took the kids down to Sea Port Village one day. It was one of those absolutely perfect days that you wonder why anyone would NOT want to live in San Diego.
This rock stacker either had super powers, or the rocks were fake. I can't tell. It was crazy though.
Walking along the embarcadero.
Ryan loves any park or walk that has maps to look at. He has to stop and check out every one.
Fun kite store where we picked up Scott's birthday present. A trick kite with an 8 foot wing span.
He'll probably kill me for posting these, but posterity needed to know how awesome Scott is. This was on a date night.
He's such a good sport- he tried all these on for me.
He is so good looking.
4th of July morning... we woke up the kids (yes, really) to make it to the ward pancake breakfast.
Ryan and his babysitter decorated his bike for the parade.
The whole fam bam.
Ryan and his little friend Aubrey waiting for the parade to start. There were so many kids. We love our ward.
Ryan decided to wear his pajama shorts since they were so patriotic. We think he is awesome.
Birthday boy and his girl. Who probably both would rather still be sleeping.
Our awesome bishop who led the parade.
Our awesome babysitter who helped Ryan with his bike.
Scott's awesome kite. (How many times can I say awesome in a post?)
Awesome.
Despite the face, this girl LOVES ice cream. She actually loves anything you are eating. You could put the same food in front of her, but she will only eat it if it is off of your plate.
Summer jammies. Ryan and Emma are trying sharing a room. Its going.... ok. Most nights it works great. A couple times Ry has ended up in his sleeping bag on our floor.
Emma moved to a big car seat (Ryan's old one) so Ryan moved to a booster. I think he misses the head support.
Scott and I are running a half in October. So we started training. This was my view one morning as the sun was coming up. So refreshing.
Scott's parents are here to visit for a bit as they've finished their mission. I don't think a minute goes by when one or both of the kids aren't snuggled up to them.
Beautiful summer sunset- view from our front porch. I love where we live.
Emma's hair is starting to grow into a nice mullet. Her uncle calls it a 'classy' mullet. It barely fits pigtails- which she loves to pull out.
Ryan went to TWO vacation bible schools this summer. He loved them both. He wanders around the house singing at the top of his lungs, "B-I-B-L-E, thats the book for me!"
Emma has developed a love for coloring. She does pretty good at only doing it on paper. Its pretty cute to watch her concentrate on it.
This helps make restaurants more enjoyable. For about 2 minutes.
She also loves glasses, and has broken a couple pair this summer. This is why I buy $5 walmart glasses.
We went to the Birch aquarium. Love the kelp bed pool. Emma gets so excited and squeals and swats at the fish that swim by.
Grandma and Grandpa came.
Ryan and his mom were lunch for the shark.
Ryan is already embarrassed by me.
The kids favorite part is the outside where there are all sorts of interactive displays.
Emma is always putting on Mr. Potato Head glasses. He brother taught her how.
Entertainment while Daddy works late.
Ninja masks.
Tried out the juicer Scott got me for Mother's day. Note: mangos make a mess, and next time peel the apple.
Family night at the park.
With pizza.
And a cute baby.
We've tried to fly the kite a few times but it is NEVER windy enough. We look awesome out there tossing it up in the air and having it slowly waft back to the ground.
Anniversary date night to Jake's in Del Mar. Amazing. Right on the water. Best swordfish I've ever had. (First swordfish I've ever had.)
The man who's made the last 8 years of my life amazing.
Sat on the sand and watched the sunset.
Walked along the water. I love Del Mar beach.
Watched this group baptize a boy in the water. They were all whooping and hollering and cheering. So much joy. I think I will feel like cheering when my kids get baptized.
Proud mama moment- when my baby scarfed her first grilled cheese from In-N-Out.
She had her pinkies extended almost the whole time.
Her brother thought it was hilarious.
Emma is a munch mouth. She eats SO much. Sometimes she eats more than me at dinner. She even took a bite out of the soap. She didn't seem to mind its taste.
Ryan's second VBS.
Little mischief maker.
Someone said- Silence is golden, but if you are a mother of a toddler, silence is suspicious.
So true.
Took the grandparents to Del Mar beach. Ryan is so awesome.
Emma loves the beach. She loves the sand. She will poke her finger into the sand, then into her mouth.
The only problem is when she tries to get sand out of her eye with those hands. Every time.
See Scott in the background trying to fly his kite? Yeah, no wind.
These guys had motors. Maybe we need a motor on our kite.
Love their faces.
A morning of snuggling in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Pumped for the day.

Okay, Megan there are so many favorites in this post, I can't pick just one. Thanks for sharing is all I can say. Oh and I love that Emma took a nice big bite out of the soap. Love her. Penni's favorite is you and Ryan in the shark's mouth... she asked, "What is Megan doing?" (of course). Oh, and I have to mention the self portrait of you and Scott on your anniv. LOVE that one...copy for us? :)
ReplyDeleteMegan. I miss you. And that picture of Ryan missing his head support is just so awesome. And you are hilarious. And beautiful. And can we please hang out again sometime? SOON?! :)
