First morning in San Francisco we took the BART to Golden Gate Park. Thanks to friendly locals we finally found the reason we went.
The very first playground in the country! It had this really cool old carousel.
And these awesome cement slides. There were old pieces of cardboard people left at the bottom that you would sit on as you slid down.
After a couple of runs with dad, Ryan was doing it all by himself. It made me a little nervous, especially when the big kids would throw sand on it to make them slide faster. But Ryan was in heaven. He would have gone up and down that slide all day.
Our little navigator. Ryan is still obsessed with maps and mapping out our location and the next direction we should go. His dad couldn't be prouder.
Postcard Lane or the Painted Ladies... all the streets were fascinating to look at. I'm so glad we took public transportation so we could both take in the city as we drove around.
Love him. He was so good on this trip.
We went back to our room for naps (Ryan and Megan) and football (Scott). (Scott got a smokin' deal on an awesome hotel right in Union Square. He is the best vacation deal finder I know.) I love how your hotel bed is magically made when you come home. Its quite possibly my favorite part... there is something so awesome about climbing into a crisp bed that you didn't have to make yourself. (I hardly ever make our bed.)
Stay tuned...
