Family trip time! First stop, Hoover Dam. I was so excited to use all the awesome 'dam' jokes. Scott politely rolled his eyes at me. It was HOT. I guess that's what we get for going in July.
The dam tourists.
(I'm so thrilled with all the awesome faces Ryan makes in pictures now. He will think he never had fun when he looks back on these.)
We took the dam generators tour.
That is a lot of dam cement!
Dam pretty view.
Ok, on to other things...
The Grand Canyon!
It was Scott's first time, I was so excited to take him to a new national park. We got there in the evening, during a crazy rainstorm. We had stopped at McDonalds, and were sitting in our car through the loudest (super close thunder and lightning) and craziest rainstorm we had ever been in. We watched the McDonalds workers scramble around with out power. It made for some pretty amazing views though.
Climbing up all the steps at the Desert Tower.
Each level of the tower had these cool Indian murals on the walls.
Ryan liked to act them out, or try to.
Ryan said he was hot, so we gave him Emma's hat to keep cool under.
We hiked a little, Ryan rode a little.
The weather at the rim wasn't too bad, high 70's, perfect.
Such a great trip. Unfortunately, it was also the trip that solidified Emma's hate for her car seat. It was a loooong drive home. Next time we want to go back with out kids. We thinking hiking might be easier with out someone on your shoulders and the drive might go quicker with out a screamer in the back.
Loved that we did it though, it was so great to spend time all together.

You guys are always so great at family trips. Great pictures. And I love your dam jokes! :) I got a little giggly reading this...
