Emma is two weeks in these pictures. I can't believe how fast time flies. Things are going really well. She still has her nights and days mixed up, but other than that, it is so fun to have her here. We've had a few mornings where Scott and I are the bookends in our bed with Ryan and Emma snuggled between us. Those moments are complete happiness for me. I can't believe I get to be a mom to these two. Don't get me wrong... it is hard as heck sometimes: when I'm covered in spit up (emma's), boogers and dirt(ryan's), sweat and 3 day old pajamas (mine), and tears (all three of ours)... I have aches and pains in all parts of my body, including some I didn't even know could ache or pain, and the feeling of waking up rested is a distant memory of the past. Not to mention emotional struggles: when feelings of inadequacy, failure, frustration, despair and uncertainty take over. But I am really trying to soak in those moments, those precious moments when we are all snuggled on the bed, when Ryan comes running in because he needs to give me 'one more hug', when Emma looks up and give me a gummy grin, when I'm walking through the parking lot carrying my new born with my three year old tagging a long, tugging on my pocket to keep up. These are the moments when I love being covered in them. And the way that I feel inside is just about enough to get me through till I get the next one. They've been lifting me a long, moment to moment, and I feel so completely blessed to have these children in my life, boogers and all.
