We have been teaching Ryan to say his prayers. We are trying to encourage him to think of what to be thankful for or what to bless on his own. Hoping that all the practice with us (thankful for family, the prophet, bless the missionaries, etc.) would sink in. Here is one of his first completely unprompted prayers on August 7, 2010. This was all him... oh, and 'thank thee' is pronounced 'fank dee'--- love that.
I thank thee for my daddy that’s on the computer
I thank thee for mommy that has this in her ears (flicking my earrings)
I thank thee for fingers
Please bless my toys.
Please bless my dodgers blanket.
Please bless my underwears.
In the name…
One of the first completely unprompted prayers by Ryan. August 7, 2010.
Ryan also flips his words around... just like I did when I was his age... a few that I used to say were 'paul- nellish' (nail polish), 'cos-billy' (bill cosby), and 'cop porn' (pop corn).
Ryan says 'got for' ... "Oh no! Daddy gotfor his watch!" (I love hearing this one!)
'con-choozie'... jacuzzi
'pin chanzee'... chimpanzees
and 'befrom' - instead of before. "Lets take Daddy to see the polar bears, he's never seen them befrom."
Had to write these down so we would remember them...
darling! joseph's prayers currently consist almost entirely of him listing names of dinosaurs he is thankful for.
